SELF Camp believes exercise and fitness is not just good for physical health; its good for emotional well-being and confidence. Regular exercise is proven to lower the risk for chronic diseases, strengthen bones and muscles, and lower blood pressure. Additionally, consistent exercise is proven to lower feelings of anxiety and depression. Exercising also boosts energy levels. Creating an exercise routine, sticking to it, and seeing results creates a feeling of accomplishment. Girls will not only enjoy the benefits of increased strength and energy, they will feel confident in the physical results which come with exercise. Every day of camp, girls learn new sports or fitness activities. Each camper will create an exercise plan which they will maintain at home after camp.

Every morning, campers begin the day with energizing group exercises including jogging, water aerobics, cardio dance, and circuit training.
Fitness
SELF Camp features alternative fitness activities, such as yoga and pilates, which focus on flexibility, balance, and core strength. These activities can be done alone without equipment.

Campers work together in their teams to compete against each other during sports activities. Team sports include soccer, volleyball, kickball, and ultimate frisbee.
teamworkAlong with general fitness knowledge and skills, girls learn the value of teamwork during camp, forming strong, lasting bonds with their team-members, counselors, and other campers.
